Party Beauty Tips
This is that time of the year, the time to party with abandon. And the one question that hangs before most of us is what to wear to the party—be it make-up or clothes.

A party does not mean going overboard with make-up, mind you. It is important to create a balance between colors, shades and textures.

Mascaras that add volume

How? Find out right here.

This party season the ’60s look is ‘in’ with thick, colored eyeliner slanting at a 45-degree angle and bouffant hairstyles. Here are some suggestions on dressing up step by step.

Party Beauty TipsTry to get a shimmery, dewy look. Since winters are generally dry, a dewy look will add freshness to your face. Some pointers:

* Before you start putting on make-up, make sure that your skin is clean and well moisturized.

* Blend in a foundation evenly with short downward strokes, from the middle of the face outwards.

* Apply a concealer under the eyes and set in the foundation by using a translucent powder with a fluffy brush; then apply the makeup as usual.

Last season’s pink gives way to a bold red and metallic colors. Many of you may find them too loud for your taste, but I suggest go right ahead! It is okay to be dressy once a year, that too, when it’s ending. Some easy tips.

* If you have dark lips, a beige lipstick will conceal them.

* You can add a rose hued lipstick to make your lips look warm and fresh, or try a super-stay gloss in Golden Toffee by Maybelline New York, to get a natural look. Lancôme’s Color Design metallic lipsticks are very 'in' this season.

Party Beauty TipsGo catty with a smoky green look this December. Shades of grey are also hot. This is how to get it right for the party tonight:

* Put sparkling beige eye shadow on the lids and taupe powder in the crease to add depth.

* Blend in a grey green eye shadow on the lids and under the bottom lashes; then smudge slightly outwards with a soft brush.

* Use double intensity mascara by The Body Shop. It lengthens and doubles the volume of lashes and is smudge-resistant.

Bobbi Brown Prevention, (US) make-up expert adds:

“Red lipstick is an easy way to make your look festive. The red lip look is easy to achieve and wear. Choose your perfect red based on your style and the statement you want to make”

Go retro with puffed-up hair and fringes.

* Soft, tousled, loose waves; natural highlights; layered bobs and large buns are making a comeback this season.

* Fringes are still in; with this style you can push your hair to the side easily and part it. Or wear it full and you will look fabulous every time.

* Side-parted hair is now much in vogue and it works well for both tied-up hairs as well as for loose hair styles.

Go red!

A defined, bold cut beats wishy-washy tresses. So, make a statement. Whether it's long or short. Lots of layers are good for adding volume and defining a shapely silhouette.

TIP Part hair when it is still wet and then style it.

Like for lips and eyes, go for metallic colors, silver, graphite, chrome and platinum. In nail paints as well.
